Liberty, Responsibility, and the Legal Profession
ABSTRACT
This colloquium focused on the legal profession. The conferees discussed how the practice of law has evolved in the United States over time, and the different ways in which lawyers have been perceived. The six sessions each examined a particular aspect of the legal profession in an attempt to discover which approaches to the practice of law seem most conducive to building and maintaining a society of free and responsible individuals.
