Liberty and the Question of Empire
ABSTRACT
This colloquium discussed the concept of liberty within the context of empire. Specific emphasis was placed on the relationship between the augmentation of national (State) power and imperialism. The ultimate goal of this conference was the examination of the relationship between liberty and power, as the latter is distributed and exercised politically and institutionally.
