Hoover’s “Freedom Betrayed”: A History of World War II and the Cold War

ABSTRACT

This conference read extensive selections from Herbert Hoover's Freedom Betrayed, edited for publication by George H. Nash and published by the Hoover Institution Press. This volume offers both a critique of Franklin Roosevelt's foreign and war policy from one of his major contemporary critics, and Hoover's analysis of world events and evaluations of world leaders at mid-century.
