Exploring the Bounds of Liberty: The Middle Period

ABSTRACT

Conferees explored the meaning of liberty among the English colonists of North America, continuing the examination of texts begun with the first volume of Liberty Fund's Greene and Yirush editions of Exploring the Bounds of Liberty. Where the first conference took up the earliest texts from the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century, this conference looked to texts from the middle period of the 1730s, 1740s, and 1750s.
