ABSTRACT

The conference paired selections from David Hume's The History of England discussing four of the Tudor monarchs–Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, and Mary–with appropriate essays from Hume's Essays: Moral, Political and Literary in relationship to Hume's interest in the historical development of a plan of regular liberty in the English constitution.
