Implications of Artificial Intelligence for Individual Liberty and Responsibility

ABSTRACT

People use artificial intelligence constantly while simultaneously worrying that artificial intelligence will enslave us, replace us, and steal our jobs. This conference explored instances where liberty is being furthered by artificial intelligence, others where liberty is being threatened, and the ambiguity surrounding the effects of artificial intelligence. Conferees discussed the challenges of balancing regulation and innovation.
