Maimonides on Free Will, Liberty, and Human Perfection
ABSTRACT
Free will and its role in human excellence and happiness were among the central concerns of medieval Jewish thinkers, and of thinkers ever since. We propose a conference on Moses Maimonides, the most important Jewish philosopher of the Middle Ages, both in relation to free will and in relation to other scholars, including Thomas Aquinas, one of the Christian philosophers whom Maimonides influenced.
