The Cádiz Constitution and the Origins of Hispanic American Constitutionalism
ABSTRACT
The Spanish liberal constitution of 1812 provided an opportunity for a general discussion about the origins of liberal constitutionalism in Latin America. The colloquium explored the reception and adaptation of the document in the new Hispanic American independent nations, as well as the impact of the American and French constitutional experiences.
