Political and Economic Liberalism in Nineteenth-Century Venezuela

ABSTRACT

This conference aimed to explore the writings of Venezuelan authors who participated in the major political debates at the beginning of the republic. A special place will be given to Francisco Javier Yanes's Manual del Politico Venezolano, first published in 1839, and arguably the most important work of classical liberal political philosophy of the time.
