Liberty and Responsibility in Milton’s “Paradise Lost” and Addison’s “Spectator”
This colloquium examined Milton's Paradise Lost with the added perspective of Joseph Addison's Spectator papers on Paradise Lost. The themes of liberty and responsibility are ubiquitous throughout Milton's epic and have been frequently explored by Liberty Fund to good effect. Carefully selected portions of Addison's Spectator papers on Paradise Lost also explored these themes and will add a new perspective to the discussion.
