Liberalism and Capitalism

ABSTRACT

This symposium considered twelve original papers on topics related to the relationship between the core normative principles of liberalism and the economic institutions of free market capitalism. Discussion questions also examined how and whether a regime of liberty and limited government can survive alongside policies of redistributive taxation, extreme regulatory controls, and potential government monopolies over the provisions of health care, education, and energy.
