Freedom and Law in Sophocles and Aeschylus
ABSTRACT
The tension and possible conflicts between the rule of law and the requirements of human freedom are not a recent discovery. The ancient Greek playwrights explored these issues thousands of years ago. The colloquium was devoted to exploring these conflicts by way of responding to the classical tragedies that are based on them.
